Thanks to its incredibly shallow draft and unique buoyancy, the packraft unlocks an exceptional river section between Carajuan (or Pont de Soleil) and the iconic Point Sublime lookout. During the beautiful spring season, this specific run is completely unnavigable for any other type of traditional watercraft, making this a truly privileged and exclusive journey.

Trip Highlights & Logistics

  1. RV at our basecamp in Castellane.
  2. The Run : A single-seater adventure featuring approximately 2 full hours of continuous river navigation, leading you straight to the dramatic gateway of the Grand Canyon du Verdon.
  3. Spring Season Exclusivity : Please note that this specific Carajuan to Point Sublime itinerary is offered exclusively on days when the EDF dam is closed, and strictly during the spring season.
  4. The High-Water Alternative : If the upstream dams are open and releasing a higher volume of water, don't worry! We simply shift our launch point up to Castellane for the classic Pont de Soleil section, allowing you to enjoy the rapids with a higher, sportier water flow.
  5. The Final Effort : Just like every grand finale at Point Sublime, you must save a little bit of energy at the end of the trip! To exit the canyon, every participant will pack up their light equipment and carry it up the short trail to the shuttle vehicle.

Mandatory Prerequisites & Gear Info

Paddling Skills : Because you are captaining your own individual craft, having prior paddling experience (such as kayaking or canoeing) is indispensable. You must know how to effectively steer and handle a double-bladed paddle.

Safety Requirements : You must know how to swim and be entirely comfortable putting your head underwater.

What to bring : You only need to bring a swimsuit and a sturdy pair of lace-up running shoes or athletic trainers that will go into the water. Flimsy water shoes or aqua slippers are proscribed.
