Description Packraft : Packraft discovery day

 Full Itinerary of the Day

1. 09:00 AM – Welcome & Packing at Base : Rendezvous at our main base in Castellane. We kick off the morning with a warm welcome, fresh coffee, and a presentation of the team and the day's program. We then fit your custom gear—your electric mountain bike and your packraft kit—and help you organize your individual expedition packs.
2. The e-Bike Ride : Depart directly from the base on your electric mountain bike, heading out to the peaceful hamlet of La Baume, where we collect the packrafts.
3. The Backpacking Hike : We ride up to the remote Hameau de Blaron, where we secure our e-bikes. From here, we transition into hiking mode. We head down toward the lake on a scenic 30-minute walk, carrying our ultra-light packrafts right on our backs.
4. The Lake Launch & Picnic : We launch our boats onto the stunning, pristine turquoise waters of Lake Castillon. We will enjoy a relaxing wilderness lunch break on the beach of Blaron or inside one of the many secret, wild coves that line the lake.
5. The Water Exploration : Spend approximately 2.5 hours navigating, exploring hidden bays, learning the history of the ancient sunken village beneath the lake, swimming, and relaxing. It is the perfect blend of active exploration and laid-back fun.
6. The Return Journey : Remember to save a little bit of energy for the hike back up to the hamlet! It features a short but steady uphill elevation change (about 40 minutes of walking).
7. 05:00/06:00 PM – Arrival : We pedal our e-bikes back down to the base in Castellane. It is a magnificent, fulfilling day out. You will definitely sleep soundly tonight!

Schedule & Availability

Operating Season : This full-day combo is available throughout the entire opening season, except on Tuesdays and Fridays during July and August (days when water is released into the river, making our team busy on whitewater runs).

Required Physical Level & Prerequisites

Difficulty : Sporty! This is a substantial, full day of outdoor physical activity.

Prerequisites : This adventure is fully accessible to motivated beginners, provided that you know how to swim autonomously, know how to ride a bicycle confidently, and possess a healthy, good physical condition.

Minimum Age : Accessible to teens from 14 years old (minimum height requirement: 155 cm / 5 feet 1 inch).
