Trip Itinerary & Logistics

Meeting Point : Rendez-vous at our private base in Castellane for a warm welcome and professional equipment fitting.

Shuttle : A quick minibus drive to the launch site in Castellane (3 mins), or to the Taloire bridge (8 mins) depending on the river's water level.

Briefing : Comprehensive safety briefing by your guide, final gear check, and off we go!

Direction: Point Sublime at the gateway of the Grand Canyon! You will navigate for a little more than 3 hours on the famous emerald green waters of the Verdon. The route features a perfect alternation of calm scenic stretches and powerful rapids, including the iconic "Barre Saint-Jean" and the legendary "Le Solitaire".

Expect a fantastic wilderness landscape, an amazing team atmosphere, alongside optional cliff jumps and white water river swimming for the most adventurous. The final section is just magical, landing right underneath the towering cliffs of Point Sublime.

Team Portage Notice : Please note that at the very end of this trip, a physical 15-minute uphill portage is required to exit the canyon. Together with your guide, you will deflate the raft, roll it up, and carry it up the trail to the Couloir Samson parking lot where our minibus awaits. Make sure to save a little bit of energy for this final step!

 Important Info: EDF Dam Water Releases & Seasonality

To navigate a raft on this long-distance run, the EDF dam water releases must be open. If the dam is closed, we take advantage of the lower water level to explore the inside of the Grand Canyon on foot—this is our famous Water Trekking (Rando Aqua) experience!

1. Seasonal Availability : This specific 23 km Integrale run is only available from April to the first week of July, and then from the last week of August to mid-October. (It is not offered during the core weeks of July and August due to high-season dam schedules).
2. River Logistics : Depending on the exact water levels, the launch site may occasionally be moved 4 km downstream to the Pont de Taloire instead of starting directly from Castellane.
3. Backup Plan : Outside of the dam openings, an outdoor activity is always guaranteed if the sun is shining! We can easily redirect your group to scenic spring runs on the Haut Verdon, the Daluis Gorge, Canyoning, or Packrafting. We always recommend keeping two options in mind (Navigation or Water Trekking / Canyoning) when booking.
