Registering or taking part in our activities implies the acceptance of our Terms and Conditions as stated below:
Requirements for registration:
Our activities are open to all, subject to the following conditions:
- Being able to swim 25m (without a buoyancy aid) and being comfortable going under water.
- Being medically fit to partake in the activity (no heart problems, recent injuries, nor chronic or temporary disabilities etc.).
Please note that our activities can be compatible with most disabilities, which we encourage. Please let us know in advance so that we can adapt the trip and equipment accordingly.
- If you are under medication (inhaler, allergies etc.) please take your medication with you and inform your instructor before the activity starts.
- Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Children over 12 years may be unaccompanied, in which case an adult must sign a parental authorisation form at the time of booking with BUENA VISTA RAFTING.
Terms of booking:
All activities require you to be pre-booked and registered with BUENA VISTA RAFTING.
To do this, please contact us by phone or email so that we can discuss the following together:
Decide on chosen the activity… in line with what you’re looking for, the ability, level of fitness, and age of participants, as well as the conditions (and / or water levels) of the trip(s).
Check our availability (not all our trips are organised every day, and we are limited to a maximum number of participants per instructor).
Provide us with your contact details (name, phone numbers, e-mail address), so we can contact you.
An email is systematically sent with a description of the chosen activity/activities.
Once you have been allocated a time slot with BUENA VISTA RAFTING, a 30% deposit is due to confirm your booking. This can be paid directly on our website on the ‘bookings’ page, by (French) cheque, traveller’s check or via bank transfer.
A confirmation e-mail is then sent to you directly, stating the chosen activity, the date and time of the meeting point, confirmation of deposit payment, equipment list (what is provided and what to bring) and detailed directions to the meeting point.
Group bookings:
The group leader is the person who booked the activity (the name and contact details that were given to BUENA VISTA RAFTING).
This person undertakes to pass on all information given by BUENA VISTA RAFTING to the rest of the group:

- Directions for getting to the meeting point
- Details and requirements relating to the activity
Please note:
In order for EVERYONE to enjoy the day, EVERY participant must be aware of the chosen activity and the prerequisites for participation (no physical conditions, vertigo etc.).
If ONE person does not meet these requirements, your safety and that of the group could be jeopardized.
An exception may be allowed in the event of a surprise celebration (special birthday party, stag/hen do etc.), where one of the participants is not aware of the activity. If this is the case, please let us know beforehand!
Cancellations, amendments and adhering to the schedule:

Depending on the number of people, activity, and dates, all cancellations are dealt with in compliance with the following terms: If cancelled…
- more than 20 days before the activity start date = 100% deposit refund
- between 20 and 8 days before the activity start date = partial deposit refund
- less than 8 days before the activity start date = no deposit refund (except in special circumstances)
Amendments:
- Changing the activity, or date of the activity:
Depending on the dates and our availabilities, we will discuss the consequences of any amendments made.
- Altering the number of participants:
If there are more people than expected, please consult us beforehand so that we can check our availability.
If there are less people than expected, you must inform us as soon as possible. Full amounts will be due for all reserved places that are cancelled 5 days or less before the activity date (except in special circumstances).
Adhering to the schedule:
You are systematically informed of the time and exact meeting point.
So as not to penalise the rest of the group, and to not disrupt the other companies’ schedules, we only tolerate a maximum delay of 15 minutes. If you are over 15 minutes late, the guide will start the activity without you: no refund (or partial refund) will be given.
Please therefore ensure you are punctual and know exactly where the meeting point is. The travel times, which can be found at the bottom of the itinerary sent by email, are given as an indication, and cannot be the subject of any dispute.

Cancellation:
It is difficult, nay impossible, to know in advance what the weather, conditions and/or water levels will be like for certain. Therefore, if your guide deems the conditions to be unsafe for the participants, BUENA VISTA RAFTING reserves the right to cancel the trip, even at the last minute.
In this case, you will receive a full deposit refund, and no additional compensation will be required.
Please note:
We contact you the day before (by phone) to confirm and provide you with all the necessary information. If we decide to proceed with the activity, and for the reasons mentioned above, the activity ends up being cancelled last minute, we apologise in advance, but please be aware that your safety is our priority.
Amendments / adhering to the schedule:
Several factors may lead to changes in the activity:
Weather conditions and / or water levels: If your guide deems the conditions as unsafe, he reserves the right to amend the initial program (different route, different timings...).
In the event of this happening, you will be consulted beforehand, and will have the choice to accept these changes or not. If you agree with the changes you will be refunded the difference in price if there is one, and no additional compensation will be due.
If you do not agree to the modifications your deposit will be refunded to you.
Peak times: We have a precise timing schedule to respect in order to limit the amount of people on the river at any one time. During the high season, and to guarantee a high quality service, it may be that we alter our timings very slightly. In this case, you will be informed as early as possible, and no refund (except in special circumstances) or compensation will be authorised.
Theft and damage:
BUENA VISTA RAFTING declines any responsibility in the event of any loss / theft of / damage to personal belongings, before, during or after the activity.
Qualifications:
BUENA VISTA RAFTING guarantees and ensures, on behalf of all its instructors, that they are professionally certified to lead all the activities on offer. Qualifications are displayed at base camp, copies of which can be provided on request.
Insurance:
All our instructors have their own Civil Liability insurance: those employed by BUENA VISTA RAFTING as well as self-employed instructors whom we sometimes call on to complete the team.
BUENA VISTA RAFTING, member of ‘Syndicat National des Guides Professionnels du Canoë Kayak et Disciplines Associées’, is insured against the risks of professional liability:

However, it is strongly recommended that EACH participant takes out personal insurance, to be covered in the event of an accident in the following cases:
- Accidents or incidents not directly related to the activity, i.e. road accident, damage (bodily or material) caused to others...
- Accidents or incidents that are not the result of malpractice or equipment failure, i.e. Twisted ankle during the activity, bad reception during a jump... despite the guide clearly stating the safety instructions.
Just like for the instructors’ qualifications, BUENA VISTA RAFTING’s insurance certificates, and those of our independent guides that join us, are all displayed at BUENA VISTA RAFTING base camp. Copies available on request.
For canyoning, we work with Lola, who is a self-employed canyoning guide.
White-water classification:
• Class 1: calm river with weak current.
• Class 2: small rapids, noticeable waves.
• Class 3: fast rapids, big waves.
• Class 4: large rapids, with considerable drops.
• Class 5: large, consecutive rapids with hazards.
• Class 6: sequence of extreme and dangerous rapids.
Image rights:
By participating in the activities, you expressly and unreservedly agree that your image can be used for promotional and advertising purposes on all our communication, unless requested otherwise in writing. In accordance with Law No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978 relating to Information Technology, Data files and Civil Liabilities you have a right to access, rectify and/or delete information about yourself.
Specific conditions for online bookings:
The present conditions of sale are concluded between the LLC whose head office is in Castellane (Alpes de Haute Provence), registered with the ‘Registre du Commerce et des Sociétés de Digne les Bains’ called hereafter ‘BUENA VISTA RAFTING’ and all parties wishing to make a purchase via the ‘BUENA VISTA RAFTING’ website called hereafter as the ‘buyer’.
Subject:
These terms of sale are intended to define the contractual relationship between BUENA VISTA RAFTING and the buyer, and the conditions applicable to any purchase made through the BUENA VISTA RAFTING merchant website, whether the buyer is a professional or a consumer.
The acquisition of a good or a service through the present site implies an acceptance without reserve by the buyer of these conditions of sale. These conditions of sale shall prevail over any other general or special conditions not explicitly approved by BUENA VISTA RAFTING.
BUENA VISTA RAFTING reserves the right to modify its conditions of sale at any time. In this case, the applicable conditions will be those in force on the date of the order by the buyer.
Characteristics of goods and services offered:
The products and services offered are listed on the BUENA VISTA RAFTING website. These products and services are offered within the limits of stocks or available
spaces. The website photography is as accurate as possible, but cannot be used to assure an exact resemblance on the day of the offered product, in particular the colours.
Prices:
All prices listed in the catalogue include all taxes. BUENA VISTA RAFTING reserves the right to modify its prices at any time, provided however that the price listed in the catalogue on the day of the booking will be the only one applicable to the buyer.
Bookings:
The buyer who wants to purchase a product or a service must:
• Complete the identification form with all the details requested or provide a customer number if applicable;
• Fill out the online booking form giving all the references of the selected products or services;
• Confirm the order after checking it;
• Make the payment in the conditions set out;
• Confirm the order and payment made.
Confirming the order implies the acceptance of these terms and conditions of sale, the acknowledgment of having perfect knowledge and waiver of its own conditions of purchase or other conditions. All details provided, as well as the logged confirmation, act as proof of the transaction. Confirmation means authorisation and acceptance of the transactions processed. The seller will confirm via e-mail the registered order.
Withdrawal:
Buyers, non-professional individuals, are entitled to a 7-day withdrawal period starting from the order date, whereby they can return the product to the seller for exchange or refund without penalty, excluding return costs.
Payment terms:
The total cost is due at the time of booking. Payments are made by card; via Credit Agricole's secure E-Transactions system that uses SSL (Secure Socket Layer) whereby all information transmitted is encrypted by software so that no third party can access it during the payment process. The buyer's account will be debited only once the products or services have been dispatched and only the amount due in respect to the products or services sent or downloaded. A printed invoice can be sent to the buyer on request.
Responsibility:
The seller, during the online booking process, is bound only by an obligation of means; the seller cannot be held liable for any damage resulting from the use of the Internet network such as loss of data, intrusion, viruses, breach of service, or other involuntary problems.
Intellectual property:
All elements of BUENA VISTA RAFTING’s website are and remain its intellectual property, and are exclusive to BUENA VISTA RAFTING. Nobody is authorised to reproduce, exploit, rebroadcast, or use for any purpose whatsoever, even partially, any elements of the site that are software, visual or sound.
Any single link or hypertext link is strictly prohibited without explicit written consent from the seller. Personal data, which in accordance with the law relating to Information Technology, Data files and Civil Liabilities dated January 6, 1978 is information of a personal nature relating to buyers, may automatically be processed. BUENA VISTA RAFTING reserves the right to collect information from buyers by using cookies, and, if it wishes, to pass the information collected onto third parties.
Buyers may object to the disclosure of their details by notifying BUENA VISTA RAFTING. Similarly, in accordance with the law dated January 6, 1978, users have the right to access and rectify data concerning them.
Archiving:
BUENA VISTA RAFTING will archive all orders and invoices using a reliable and long-lasting medium, constituting a true copy, in accordance with the provisions of Article 1348 of the Civil Code. BUENA VISTA RAFTING’s computerised registers will be considered by all parties as proof of all communication, orders, payments and transactions between the parties.
Litigation settlements:
The present conditions of online sales are subjected to French law. In the event of any disputes, the Tribunal Court in Paris shall have jurisdiction, even if there is more than one defendant or in the event of a third-party notice.
