Buena Vista Rafting starts renting an electric bike in the Verdon gorges !!!
The electric bike is an effective alternative for getting around the Verdon: no more worries about the reliefs of our magnificent valley!
And this gentle mode of locomotion fits perfectly with our adage: "The spirit of sport and nature in the Gorges du Verdon".

Ideas for mountain biking routes in the Verdon gorges and around Castellane:
Our first route, "Le Tour des Lacs", is a 25 km loop. It only takes small paved roads, and takes you along the turquoise waters of the lakes of Chaudanne and Castillon with a return via the village of Castellane ...
This route also invites you, if you wish, to take cross roads (tracks or paths).
From the initial loop (via Chaudane lake), a variant allows you, for example, to reach the village of Demandolx. Another one will also make you discover the ruins of the town " Ville" with its castle and its extraordinary panorama on the lake of Castillon.
Finally, the more athletic can still, by joining Lake Castillon, extend their journey by making a return trip to the pretty village of St Julien du Verdon and its small beach, the Bay of Touron.
Whatever the route chosen, the climb starts at the start. The return, from the lakes or from Demandolx presents almost only descent.
Perfect, after a good picnic or a nap with your feet in the water!
It is also an additional comfort: if you have used up your battery life, it will always be easy to return to our base without electric assistance.
During this walk, you will pass over the Barrage de Castillon. To the right of the latter: the lake which bears the same name and on the left, you will find the Chaudane lake. It would be a shame not to stop on this work, in particular to admire the sundial which is there.
This was inaugurated on June 20, 2009. It was designed and calculated by Denis Savoie and Roland Lehoucq and the time lines are drawn on the vault of the dam. Covering an area of approximately 13,000 square meters, it is the largest sundial in the world.
This project, carried out under the aegis of EDF, is part of the World Year of Astronomy which celebrates the 400th anniversary of the first observations of the sky with an astronomical telescope by Galileo.
After the dam, the road descends gently towards Castellane and runs alongside the superb Lac de Castillon.
Here too, a short stop is needed: This is the right time for a last dive in the turquoise waters of the lake.
Stop at Jean Claude's nautical base "Le Sirocco" for a stand-up paddle or pedal boat tour and above all to taste a good ice cream.
Finally, at the end of the lake, two routes to reach Castellane: The road that winds quietly to the village or the track, for the more athletic. During the full day, your bike will not become a pumpkin until 7 p.m., you still have time to stroll through the village, discover its narrow streets and small shops and museums or enjoy the game of our bowls on the large place Marcel Sauvaire.
Our second route will take you to discover two of the many hamlets of Castellane: that of Robion and that of Eoulx.
From our reception base, we will first take a long straight line in the direction of Castellane, then we will have to turn left, before the bridge, at the municipal swimming pool.
This is where we start the climb to Robion. Narrow, winding road which requires good management of its electric assistance ... It winds at the bottom of a small canyon before reaching the pine forests and reaching the pass.
Here, two choices are possible: Immediate descent to the village of Bourguet where we will find the forest track to reach the hamlet of Eoulx. Or a small deviation of 5 minutes to discover the St Thyrse chapel which is an exceptional building, dating from the 10th century.
The chapel is currently no longer fully accessible to the public because it is the subject of a restoration project but remains visible from the parking lot. And it is worth the detour!
Return to the pass from which we set off for the long "breathtaking" descent to the entrance to the village of Bourguet. Warning ! You have to be careful when approaching the village because the junction is just at its entrance on the left.
To miss it is to force yourself to dismount as the start is so steep ...
The route continues on a track through the national forest of Maurin-Clare, straddling the department of Var and that of the Alpes de Haute Provence.
We come out at the foot of the hamlet of Eoulx that we can already see when looking up. On the way, you can stop at "Destination Ailleurs", an unusual place that will make you want to come back
A few more pedal strokes before arriving on the beautiful Place de Eoulx, with its castle, its large wash house, its friendly inhabitants and its exceptional panorama.
A short break is therefore necessary ... before going back down to Castellane. First, the crossing of the small village of La Garde with its green-roofed church, then again a long descent to reach us at the base of Buena Vista. (Descent for 5 minutes on the road to Grasse, busy in summer / Be careful)
