The half-day-trip begins in Castellane and ends on the small beach of the Pont de Soleil. Or of the beach of Chasteuil.
A pretty trip lasting 2h30 on the water, which is quite physically demanding and will take you down some beautiful rapids. On the calmer parts however, this trip lets you enjoy your exceptional surroundings.
As this activity is a bit more technical and challenging than rafting, we require you to have already had some canoeing (two-seater) or kayaking (solo) experience, or to be a confident swimmer…!
During the months of July and August, the water flow is lower and the river is much more frequented. We shorten the ride in order to enjoy the site, do some jumps and swim in the rapids. A few kilometers less, but still 2H30 on the water. The fun!
Description Canoeing and kayak : Canoeing and kayak formula Half-day-trip
For all canoeing and kayaking activities starting from Castellane, the EDF dams MUST be open.
Otherwise, we use the reduced water flow to ‘swim’ through the Grand Canyon du Verdon. This is our famous AQUA-TREKKING activity!
In July and August, the dams normally open on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Apart from these two months, there are no set rules; it all depends on the rain and snowfall we’ve had over winter.
However, if the sun is out, a white-water activity is always possible somewhere (the Haut Verdon or the Gorges de Daluis in spring, Aqua-trekking, Canyoning...).
If you give us a ring we can go through all the possible options with you.
